It's upon us again! Australia's most beloved festival is around the corner. The festival will be held Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 July 2009.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO AND READ BEFORE THE FESTIVAL:
Ensure you read an understand the following terms and conditions of sale and entry to the festival. By purchasing a ticket you will be agreeing to all of these terms and conditions:
Splendour In The Grass: Event Ticket - terms & conditions of entry
Splendour In The Grass: Camping Ticket - terms & conditions of entry
Qjump - terms & conditions of sale
Check out the latest forecast and temperatures here. It's been a wet and wild year so far in this neck of the woods though so bring your gumboots as there are still some damp patches on site. Otherwise, wear good, high-sided, weatherproof boots. Don't even think of wearing thongs. Dress appropriately. Bare feet are out; you won't get in the gate, as everyone must have shoes on.
Protect Your Ticket:
If it is raining, keep your ticket dry by folding it into 3 vertical panels matching the 3 columns of text and images. Then hold it under your coat until you reach the entry gate. At the gate, show the panel with your Name, DOB and barcode to our security and scanning staff.
Bring your photo ID so we can match it against the details on your ticket. If you're over 18 and want to consume alcohol, you'll need either a current driver's license (with name, DOB and photo image), Proof of Age Card or a current, valid passport. No photocopies are accepted, so make sure you've got the real-deal. For under-18s ID and more ticketing info, click here.
Ticket to Ride or Park:
You will need your ticket or wristband to board our shuttle buses from town ($3 fare - please have the right change) or to enter the Melaleuca Drive carpark. It should also be noted that alcohol cannot be taken on board the buses or into the carpark or the campground.
Sniffer Dogs in Town:
Police drug detection dogs will be back at the festival and around town. Please co-operate with the Police and their canine partners. Splendour does not condone or endorse the use of illicit substances and any persons found in possession of such substances will be prosecuted.
Festival Checklist:
Here are a few other items to consider when you're at the event:
- Do NOT remove your wristband until the festival is over.
- Buses to Ballina/Lennox, Ocean Shores & other areas depart from Melaleuca Drive carpark, NOT from campground shuttle bus stop which is for the town loop service only.
- The carpark, like the campground, is a NO ALCOHOL area.
- Cloakroom closes at 12.30am Sat night & 11.30pm Sun.
- Recycle your cans and plastic bottles: 1 container = 1 drink ticket.
- Ciggie butts in Binyabutt containers please - not on the ground.
- Restaurants, Jager Cube, Guzman y Gomez, bars and Tipi Forest stay open after main stages finish. Hang around and avoid the rush for the exits.
- Persons supplying alcohol to minors will be removed from the festival and prosecuted. Ditto for minors with alcohol in their possession.
- Don't jump the fence. There's a $350 fine and you'll get arrested.
- Please have a read of the At The Festival FAQs. Yes, we have rules, but they're in place to make sure we all have as safe and friendly a time at the festival as possible. We want you to have fun, but please don't make it at the expense of other punters, our staff or the residents of Byron Bay.
Look after each other and our town, laugh and have the time of your life at SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2009.
